Purpose:
I and 3 other interdisciplinary engineers at Olin created the Wizard Laser Tag system, which consists of 4 sets of vests containing infrared sensors and an Arduino ESP8266 that acts as a microcontroller on the vest, receiving inputs from the infrared sensors and sending signals to the on-vest LEDs as well as communicating through WIFI to our website that records each player's lives and game score live. Additionally, each player has a wireless "wand" containing an infrared emitter that acts as the "laser" that activates the infrared sensor on each player's vests.
I designed the on-vest electrical system connecting each sensor "tag" to the microcontroller in order for the Arduino to receive a signal any time someone is tagged and pulse the on-vest LEDs to alert the player.
